Come Away With Me!

Come away with Me
Come away with Me
It's never too late
It's not too late
It's not too late for you

I have a plan for you
I have a plan for you
It's gonna be wild
It's gonna be great
It's gonna be full of Me

Open up your heart and Let Me in
Open up your heart and Let me in

It's been a year.
One year.
Since we left.
Left a church we loved.
I loved.
That loved me.

The leaving was so. incredibly. hard.

But...
I could hear the LORD beckoning me...
 "Come away with Me..."

He had been pulling me away for some time.

However...
I was clinging to that church.  Not to Him.
I was dependent on their love.  Not His.
My identity was found in that building, those people, my abilities there.  Not Him.
That church reigned in my life.  Not God.

Wants me for Himself.

He wooed me, "Come away with Me..."

Urged me to, "Come away..."

Finally...
I did.

It's been a year.

One year of learning to cling to Jesus.  No one else.
One year dependent on His love. No one elses.
One year of being found in Him.  In no one or nothing else.
He reigns in my life.

It has been GREAT!
It has been WILD!
It has been Full of Him!

*****************************************************************************

This is not intended to prompt you to leave a church. Leaving my church of 17 years did not come with out much prayer.  We did not leave in anger.  We left out of obedience. Through God's leading we immediately found another church to attend.  We firmly believe that we are not to "give up meeting together."  We are grateful to be part of the Body of Christ- the church.

I do encourage you however to listen to God's pull in your own life.
Is He beckoning you to "Come Away" with Him...
to leave something that has become an idol or is a stronghold in your own life?

It's never too late.

He has a plan for you.

It is going to be full of Him!

amazing the things God leads us to do sometimes! My parents left their church of 25 years a few years ago, and I remember being confused and wondering if that's what God really wanted them to do. Since then, I have seen God so amazing things in their lives, and now they are helping a brand-new church in Nebraska. God knows!

I'm so encouraged that God has done good things in this time, Denise, and that you are drawing closer to Him. Part of my story of the last year has to do with the same thing. It has been so hard. I'm not out of the story enough to know how it's going to end. But... I need to fall more in love with Jesus... this I know.

You know this, but your encouragement as I was finding a church helped keep me going during that very confusing and stressful time.

I am so glad that your new spiritual home has brought you closer to Christ and those who love Him. That's something we all seek and you are so blessed to be enjoying that.

this is precious. thank you for the encouragement to listen to His prompting, whatever it might be, and whatever the cost. it's amazing the things that we allow to consume us, pushing Him further down the priority list, isn't it? it is all.about.Him. period. i have learned this over and over.
