first day of school

Monday was our first day of school!

it has become tradition to have a breakfast party for the first day of school.

The breakfast party is always followed by first day of school pictures taken by our resident photographer (daddy).

i have been home schooling for 5 years (and have begun my 6th)! i had no idea this gig was what God had in mind for me, or our family. it is challenging, and rewarding, trying, and a blessing.
i look forward to another year and all that we will learn together.

Here are a few of our favorites to learn from
Math-U-See
Story of the World
Learning Language Arts Through Literature
A Beka (additional history and science)

Oh my denise, your kids are beautiful (take after mommy and daddy). I can't believe you have 5th, 4th and 1st graders. How is that possible? Good for you for homeschooling. I have a bunch of friends who do it and they love.

I am glad I have a new blog to check out. I love blog spot too.

We use SOTW too! You are such a good mommy, we had no pomp or circumstance;).

Gorgeous pictures! The kids look like they've been photoshopped in! How cute that they get dressed up for their first day of school even though you homeschool. They're so sweet.

Love the pictures - so sweet!

We are using Learning Language Arts Through Literature for the first time this year. So far I like it. I had been struggling to find an all inclusive, fun (if grammar can be fun) grammar program.

I hope you are having a great start to the school year.
