GIVE AWAY!

This morning I was reading Isaiah 43:1 "I have called you by name; you are mine."

For 36 years "you are not mine" was the broken record my earthly father played for me.
 BUT GOD.
He swooped in and jealously and wildly staked His claim on me
with
 "I have called you by name;
YOU. ARE. MINE."

Today is National Adoption Day.

To adopt is to "to choose or take as one's own."
I heard once that the commitment of adoption is one that cannot be severed.
Ever.

To say I love that is an understatement.
Being chosen, adopted, and loved by Father God is EVERYTHING to me.

Today on National Adoption Day I rejoice in Father God,
Who wonderfully stakes his claim on us!
We all need it!
Can I get an Amen!!?

I especially want to cheer on mommies and daddies,
who have followed His lead
by adopting, and calling precious children,
"mine!"

To do so I'm giving away this Chosen, Adopted, Loved
 12x15 Canvas
from our Kiss the Sky shop.

I think adopting is an amazing thing to do.
And often think about the possibility that one day hubby and I might be able to adopt.

My husband and I just became foster parents. To us adoption is an earthly way we can honor God, while providing a safe place for a child. We are excited!

My aunt was unable to have children of her own and because of her breast cancer diagnosis was unable to adopt from the US. She was able to adopt a special needs boy from China a few years ago. She saved Jeffreys life by bringing him home.

We are in the process of adopting two girls from Cameroon. For me...adoption is God's heart that all should be a part of a family and intimately be a part of His family!!! There is always room at His table!!

My mom was adopted in Illinois. She adopted me in Detroit. I adopted my oldest son in Thailand. Adoption is a pretty big deal in my family. I think there are 13 of us who are adopted. God is good. <3

Adoption is suck an amazing act on both ends. For the parents giving up they are so selfless and concerned with the baby and the parents accepting a new baby are giving that child the world!

Adoption is loving unconditionally just as Christ loved us. Adoption is near and dear to our hearts. This December we will celebrate 2 yrs with our daughter from China.

We would love to adopt one day. To be a picture of what Christ has done for us. Our daughter (4) already talks about her baby sister in India.

I love the idea of adoption. I'm always reminded about how great God's love for us was that while we were sinner's Christ died for us and adopted us into his family. Adoption is the greatest act of unconditional love. You don't adopt a child because they deserve it. You adopt them because you choose to love them. It's a beautiful thing!

My parents adopted my younger brother and sister when my sisters and I were older(i was 20) but they complete our family. To know that God placed them with us because their families couldn't take care of them is still just so amazing to me. They needed us and we needed them.

We adopted a 3-sibing group 7 years ago from foster care. We are in the process of adopting a 4th foster child; we got him at 3 months old & he will soon be 3 YEARS old! In 8 years we've fostered 31 kids. Adoption is our heart :)

We have biological children but adoption has been in my heart always. Our story is extremely rare - God brought the baby to us. We were asked if we'd be willing to adopt her. We still had to be obedient and believe God like we never had before. She was born extremely sick and spent a month in the NICU, but our adoption was finalized on Sept. 9. :)

I was a single mom when I met and later married my husband. He didn't even think twice about taking on another man's responsibly and adopted my daughter soon after we married. She is loved unconditionally and knows she is his princess.

Hannah Schubert said...

We thought we would get pregnant right away but after 2 yrs of trying and infertility doctors we looked into adoption. We became foster parents and soon after were placed with 2 brothers. Our lives were forever changed. Our daughter got the siblings she had prayed for 3 years.

Hannah Schubert said...

We adopted the boys a year after they came to our family! If it weren't for adoption my husband would never have been called Dad and what better title then that! We helped start an adoption support group through church. We now get to live life, support, encourage and share in the joys adoption brings to other families.

We just took in a sib set of 5 children to foster and prayerfully adopt. This has incredible meaning due to that and also I as a little girl was taken in by my 1/2 sister at age 6 due to my mothers drinking. But, my brother-in-law was never happy about it, I was a drain on his dreams, slowed him down and he let me know. When I realized that my true father was God and that I was precious to him enough to receive a place in heaven as an inheritance just cleared everything up in my life that was wrong :)

Adoption is redemption, God taking brokenness sin has wreaked and transforming in into beauty. The transforming is a long, hard proceeds and I long for the day our adopted daughters and son will confidently KNOW they are loved, valuable, and purposed for great things!

This sweet word "adoption" has changed our lives. Not only have we been given the precious gift of a child, but also the gift of our eyes being opened. A picture of Christ. So precious.
