Sunday we began the season of advent by lighting the candle of hope. Each evening, by candlelight, we have been speaking of the HOPE we have in Jesus.
This afternoon God took Michael's grandfather, Logan Young home. Tonight, we spoke of how grateful we are to have the hope that Grandad is with God, and that we will see him again when we get home.
The created world itself can hardly wait for what's coming next. Everything in creation is being more or less held back. God reins it in until both creation and all the creatures are ready and can be released at the same moment into the glorious times ahead. Meanwhile, the joyful anticipation deepens.

I'm sorry to hear about Grandpa.
I know that it brings up memories of your Grandpa as well. That was a nice tribute.
I am missing my dad this season. Grandpa Logan looks a little like him.
Also, so very sorry to hear about your loss. I agree with Jules, it was a very nice tribute! We will be praying for your family.
I'm so sorry for your loss, but am rejoicing that he's up in Heaven with the Lord. May the Lord's peace & comfort rest upon your heart during this time.
Sorry to hear about the loss of grandpa but grateful to know that there will someday be a reunion b/c of Christ. Saying a prayer for you all this evening.
You have my sympathies. My grandfather died last November, and it was very hard to see my dad so sad. It was a very stressful time, even though everything went smoothly and the funeral was beautiful.
So I can understand what you wrote here today. HOPE is a wonderful word, not only during Advent, but always...
Denise,
I know we talked about grief and loss before but when I read this article I thought I would share the link with you. The Lord uses the understanding of our losses to bring comfort to those who walk that path. Keeping you in prayer with the loss of grandpa so close to Christmas. Here's the link.
